KASURI

This series incorporates “kasuri,” a traditional technique that uses pre-dyed threads to create a faded-looking pattern. By combining kasuri threads with solid-coloured threads, we’ve used a double-weave technique to express a graphic pattern where straight lines and faded areas intersect. Slits are cut diagonally into a single piece of cloth formed from a rectangular pattern, creating a sculptural drape. The “haori” design allows you to adjust the collar to wear it as a hood or a stole by changing the button placement at the chest.
