This series is inspired by the patterns of works by ceramic artist Shoji Kamoda, which are expressed using pleating techniques. The fabric is double-dyed, giving it depth of colour reminiscent of clay texture, and printed with a transfer process while the irregular pleats are gathered together. Only the surface touched by the transfer paper is coloured, creating a contrast with the fabric colour that remains inside the pleats, and recreating the sharp patterns drawn on the works and the three-dimensional look of a pot.
