INLAY

This is a series inspired by the work of Shoji Kamoda, defined by its grey, rough clay texture and its wing-like patterns drawn with vivid blue glaze. Using a computer jacquard loom, the fine clay particles were reproduced as woven patterns to recreate the clay’s texture in textile form. Glossy recycled polyester thread was used for the blue wing patterns, and a cut jacquard technique was skillfully utilised for weaving while adjusting the weave density in order to express the raised texture and vivid colour of the glaze. Three styles are available, including a jumpsuit that becomes flat when all the buttons are undone.
