Announcing the second phase of the “TYPE-III Magarimono project” in collaboration with MAGARIMONO, a footwear brand endeavouring to transform the shoe-making process.

Commencing from the encounter of both companies that aim for next-generation manufacturing, this project explores the possibilities of new processes.
This latest release is sandals handwoven from a single cord that connects the sole and upper. The innovative design is unconstrained by conventional shoe-making and expands the possibilities of manufacturing.

TYPE-III

The structured sole is crafted by precisely cutting a single sheet of rubber, an approach fundamentally different from existing manufacturing methods. The upper material is Ultrasuede® nu, a synthetic leather with a leather-grain look developed by Toray, that is characterised by its soft and refined texture. Formed using high-frequency processing, the upper is entirely seamless with a smooth look. The sandals are finished by threading a single cord through grooves and holes cut into the sole. With a highly cushioned insole and a cut line that wraps around the foot and connects to the back strap, the design pursues both walking comfort and ease when putting on or taking off the sandals. This item is a fusion of handwork skills and design rooted in everyday life.
